You do not need to download the source code from either the releases page or the repository.
You will need a fresh copy / unaltered version of Doki Doki Literature Club, which can be downloaded for free at and either the official MAS Installer (recommended) or the zip file containing the mod files for Monika After Story, both of which can be found on the releases page.
